  1. In Target Tracker there was a curriculum planner report so that subject leaders could easily see what the objectives are in each band for their subject. This helps to check coverage of the curriculum in the school. Sonar Tracker does not have this feature which makes it difficult for subject leaders to have a clear document detailing the band statements.

  2. Schools would like to be able to select the Terms they wish to assess and only see those in the summative Assessment/Scores and in reports Eg. Autumn End, Spring End, Summer End

    This is exactly the type of flexibility that is currently being discussed as part of the Sonar School Configuration Page concept. It is in its infancy in terms of planning and it can't be tied to a particular period of time for release, however it is under review.

  3. I suggest a really useful addition to Early Years observations would be to be able to link age related expectations suggested by the development matters framework, as this will inform assessment, and will then be able to be exported as evidence.

  4. Former OTrack customers often ask for a Sonar version of the Attainment and Progress Summary which had 3 subjects and a combined column on one page. This report is a Termly context Group report and for each subject it shows the attainment percentages for Below, At & Above next to the Termly Target (progress) %'s Below, At, Above. The Termly Targets can be changed to Progress from Previous Summer for those who don't use Targets. It is often used for progress meetings and governors.

  5. Customers have suggested it would be helpful to be able to copy targets from one term to the next.
    If these are entered into the wrong term, currently a school has to manually do them all over again.

  6. Being able to filter the statements according to pre key stage level (as we could in Target Tracker) to be able to see which standard has been achieved

  7. Ability to track progress of pupils assessed outside of their year group (sig below). For example, if a Y5 pupil is assessed as 3At > 3B this should be interpreted as them having made less than the expected progress. Currently, all progress reports would consider these children as having made expected progress and schools want to be able to track small progress steps of these pupils better.

    Tracking smaller step progress outside of the age-related bands in this way will soon be available to you in Sonar.


    We are planning a report similar to the existing Summative Progress Analysis that will track movement of assessments made numerically e.g. 3At > 3B would display a negative difference in the number of codes (please note that the numerical difference will differ depending on your selected school ARE code model).

  8. SONAR Age band expectations are currently:
    Pre Entry 0-11 months
    Entry 1 8-20 months
    Entry 2 16-26 months
    Nurs 1 22-36 months
    Nurs 2 30-50 months

    Early Years Leads within our schools think they should be:
    Pre Entry 8-20 months
    Entry 1 16-26 months
    Entry 2 22-36 months
    Nurs 1 30-50 months
    Nurs 2 40-60 months
    Reception ELG

  9. The Venn diagram report is dreadful. It is over too many pages, the names over lap and it doesnt print well. the previous report on O'Track was excellent. i dont understand why you have changed a report that was so good. Tracking those pupil who are at in all subjects is critical. I'm so disappointed in the whole Sonar system, but this report id just dreadful!

  12. Had schools where new children have joined them. They have no UPN. They do not need to report data but because no UPN file not created. Can we look at how to mitigate against this situation? Eg manually update children? Remove children from CTF? Make CTF without children with no UPN?

  13. Please consider extending the available Year Groups on the Summative and Formative Data Entry screens and reports for use by All-Through and Special schools allowing them to use the system for all their year groups. This would be from Reception to Y14.

  14. Since the recent update of Sonar, the Switch Schools function is less easy to use. Although users can click on their profile and scroll through the list of schools that they have access to, this is not easy and there is no way to search as there used to be. For large MATs this is a problem - could we have it back please?

  15. It will be useful for teachers to print out reports in a readable format not over many many pages. Could be used for Pupil progress meetings. Classroom monitor had the function to export to excel.

  16. We need a way to filter this report to see data for particular classes at a time, as you can with other reports. Schools with a combination of Mainstream and SEND pupils need this for reporting purposes.

  17. Where schools have test data, such as GL scores, this would be time consuming to add manually to Sonar. It would be far more usable if we could import this from another format such as a spreadsheet.

  18. Teachers would like to print reports of formative assessments made each term of the pupils - which objectives they have achieved, etc. using the colours. We used to have a report in Otrack called Depth of Knowledge by Group and Objective Assessment progress

  19. It would be useful to be able to have an overall figure for the number of children making expected progress or accelerated progress - as a cumulative function.
    Currently, the Summative Progress Analysis provides the figures but these need to be added up to calculate cumulative.
    The Conversion Matrix has cumulative but only for each starting point, it doesn't show in the KPIs, so again needs manually adding up.
