Import test scores
Where schools have test data, such as GL scores, this would be time consuming to add manually to Sonar. It would be far more usable if we could import this from another format such as a spreadsheet.
Moved to Under Review.
We are considering this idea and will be reviewing again to see if more votes are added.

I cannot believe that in this day and age a program doesn't allow for data to be imported - manually or automatically via an API (application Programming Interface). Having worked in the corporate technology sector for over 20 years, we were able to get numerous programes to 'talk' to each other automatically (minimum overnight but occasionally hourly) and in the worst case this would be done manually using a csv file. This is NOT new or complicated programming/technology and because of Sonar not doing this teachers are having to duplicate data entry (we are already overworked).
We should be able to use any (or a mix of) assessment package(s) (GL, Test Base, WhiteRose ...) and that data should be able to be imported into Sonar for full data analysis across all subjects. Whilst we could just input the data into Sonar directly, each package has their own 'standardised scores' (like SATS every year) which helps identify if a child has met age related expectations and that is what is important.
Just like statutory data (SATS scores), Sonar needs to be able to take the raw score and the standardised score with perhaps the school highlighting what the standardised score bands are. This is a simple formula on an excel spreadsheet so shouldn't be difficult to complete on a database.
Sonar needs to put his into place immediately. -

This would save a huge amount of time for teachers and Admin teams and would be a pivotal tool for enabling us to work effectively and reduce workload

I've met 2 MATs and 4 schools this term that really want this

I find it really limiting that this is not an option. Sisra (another Juniper product!) allows for manual upload of data from SIMS, so I am really unsure as to my this hasn't been part of the development. Using the current setup either myself or the teachers will be doing double the work, as expectation at our setting is for targets to be entered into our MIS. I am now having to manually re-enter the whole cohort into Sonar!
It wouldn't be such an issue if it was then possible to do an initial Sonar input, and then export the targets into a CSV format that I could then upload into our MIS, but that isn't possible either...
I don't feel that during the initial stages it was properly communicated that the' drag and drop' data input would only apply to statutory assessment, and the system would require manual input for anything formative and targets.

I often hear from MAT's how important this is to them, for time saving and getting the most out of the triangulation of the data.

It would be useful because it would allow us to analyse pupils summative progress against their Rising Stars progress and would save time compared to entering the results for three different tests per child manually.

Currently schools have to manually enter pupils' test scores. Most providers offer the ability to download assessment data into a csv file. It would be useful for schools if Sonar had the function to import these files.
