I find it really limiting that this is not an option. Sisra (another Juniper product!) allows for manual upload of data from SIMS, so I am really unsure as to my this hasn't been part of the development. Using the current setup either myself or the teachers will be doing double the work, as expectation at our setting is for targets to be entered into our MIS. I am now having to manually re-enter the whole cohort into Sonar!
It wouldn't be such an issue if it was then possible to do an initial Sonar input, and then export the targets into a CSV format that I could then upload into our MIS, but that isn't possible either...
I don't feel that during the initial stages it was properly communicated that the' drag and drop' data input would only apply to statutory assessment, and the system would require manual input for anything formative and targets.
I think this would be a really useful addition. I know in other development trackers (e.g. Tapestry) you are able to directly link observations to age related expectations, so even a similar comparative structure would be useful for teachers when assessing progress of an EYFS cohort.
