I cannot believe that in this day and age a program doesn't allow for data to be imported - manually or automatically via an API (application Programming Interface). Having worked in the corporate technology sector for over 20 years, we were able to get numerous programes to 'talk' to each other automatically (minimum overnight but occasionally hourly) and in the worst case this would be done manually using a csv file. This is NOT new or complicated programming/technology and because of Sonar not doing this teachers are having to duplicate data entry (we are already overworked).
We should be able to use any (or a mix of) assessment package(s) (GL, Test Base, WhiteRose ...) and that data should be able to be imported into Sonar for full data analysis across all subjects. Whilst we could just input the data into Sonar directly, each package has their own 'standardised scores' (like SATS every year) which helps identify if a child has met age related expectations and that is what is important.
Just like statutory data (SATS scores), Sonar needs to be able to take the raw score and the standardised score with perhaps the school highlighting what the standardised score bands are. This is a simple formula on an excel spreadsheet so shouldn't be difficult to complete on a database.
Sonar needs to put his into place immediately.
