Empowering Users with Form Data Control
Ensuring data integrity and user satisfaction is paramount. Currently, while users can restore deleted forms, the form data itself is lost permanently, posing a risk of accidental data loss. To address this, I propose enhancing the Instant Restore feature to include form data recovery, ensuring both the form and its data are retrievable within 30 days of deletion.
By implementing this enhancement, we provide a crucial safeguard against accidental deletions, protecting important user data. Additionally, for users who require immediate data deletion for compliance reasons, we propose adding an option within Instant Restore to permanently delete form data. This ensures users have full control over their data while providing an added layer of protection against accidental deletions.
To further improve user control, we should add two options at the point of deletion, allowing users to choose how they wish to handle the form and its data:
[Option 1 (Immediate Deletion):]
"I confirm that I would like to [delete the form and its submissions immediately]. I have downloaded a copy of the data or do not need to retain this form's data. I understand that once I proceed, the data will be permanently deleted and cannot be restored."
[Option 2 (Delayed Deletion):]
"I confirm that I would like to [delete the form immediately but retain the data for a further 30 days]. I have downloaded a copy of the data or do not need to retain this form's data. I understand that once I proceed, the data will be permanently deleted 30 days from today and, after that period, cannot be restored."
Please note: Anything in brackets would be best suited to be formatted as bold text for accessibility reasons.
This improvement leverages our existing infrastructure, making it a straightforward and efficient upgrade. By enhancing Instant Restore to fully recover deleted forms and their data, we empower users to manage their content more effectively, and ultimately increase user satisfaction.
